Weekly overview

  1. IMDb 6.5

    Mumbo Jumbo

    DF

When the happy little hippo, Mumbo Jumbo, accidentally turns giant his life changes for the worse - seemingly forever. Now Mumbo is forced out on a challenging journey in order to encounter an unpredictable witch. Luckily Mumbo's best friends join him. It’s still an insurmountable task, but at least the friends are facing it together. It is not easy being a small hippo, nor a giant one, and when the only way back to normal depends on the cooperation of a frank and mischievous witch, anyone can imagine that it requires a true effort. Hopefully Mumbo Jumbo will develop a strong belief in himself during the adventure. Otherwise, it will definitely be an impossible mission.

  5. Cyberpunk Romance

    OV

The future is here: via so-called ports—USB-like connections on the head—human brains can be directly connected to computers. This enables things like upgrades (foreign languages! expert knowledge!), virtual buzz experiences, and even the networking of multiple brains. A group of neurohackers tries out everything and even develops their own apps. Only Mona is decidedly against this technology; the danger of external control just seems too great.

Finding Connection follows those yearning for trust and emotional intimacy, only to discover an unexpected anchor in the algorithms of AI. The deeply personal exchanges between humans and machines give rise to questions that echo long after the credits roll. Frequently asked01 — 07

Which cinemas are covered?

Currently 3 cinemas and film series in Heidelberg and the surrounding area: Gloria & Gloriette Heidelberg, Karlstorkino Heidelberg and Die Kamera Heidelberg.

How current is the programme?

Data is scraped multiple times a day directly from cinema websites. Cancellations, sold-out flags and programme changes usually surface within an hour.

Can I buy tickets here?

No — the Tickets button on each screening links directly to the cinema's own booking page. This site doesn't sell tickets and takes no commission.

What do OmU, OmeU, DF, OV, DCP, 35mm mean?

Language version: OmU = original audio with German subtitles, OmeU = original with English subtitles, DF = German-dubbed version, OV = original version with no subtitles, stumm = silent film (often with live accompaniment). Projection format: DCP = Digital Cinema Package, the digital standard in modern cinemas; 35mm / 16mm / 70mm = analogue film prints on physical stock.

What happens to screenings that have already started?

On today's view, screenings are hidden 30 minutes after their start time, so only reachable showtimes remain visible. A small note at the bottom shows how many have already begun.

Why this site?

Heidelberg has an unusually dense cinema scene — the DFF Filmmuseum, Astor, three arthouse houses, Pupille at the university, Programmkino Rex in Darmstadt, the Murnau in Wiesbaden — but no shared programme. This site lays every house onto one searchable day view.

How do push notifications work?

Subscribe via the "Push Digest" button or the footer link. Three time slots are available: morning (07:00), afternoon (17:00) and a weekly Sunday overview (09:00). Notifications can optionally be restricted to specific cinemas. Sign-up is anonymous — no account, no email — and can be cancelled at any time. On iOS, the site must first be added to the home screen as a web app.
